Carol Archer Baugh

Carol Archer Baugh, resident of Madison, passed away May 5, 2024, surrounded by her family. Carol, or “Kix” as she was affectionately known, was a gardener of friends and beloved by so many. Her brilliant smile and inclusive character created a true garden of enduring friendships.

The daughter of the late Murr Sinclair Baugh of Wellington, Florida, and Samuel Baugh II of Jamestown, Rhode Island, Carol resided in Guilford and New York City but grew up in Hamilton, Bermuda, and attended Mount Saint Agnes Academy in Hamilton Parish.

Kix studied Italian, French, and art history at Fleming College in Florence, Italy, and for a period worked for Princess Grace of Monaco. After several management positions in West Palm Beach, Kix eventually relocated to New York City, where she served as executive vice president of Edwin Bird Wilson, Inc, an advertising firm. Kix then went on to become executive director of facilities, safety, and operations at Fox Broadcasting and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. and retired from that position. After retirement, Kix worked as a part-time project manager and, most recently, for Summit Property Management.

Kix’s greatest passion was her love of family, her friends, her pets, and her home by the river. She entertained with flair and generosity, and few things made her happier than having friends stop by for a chat in her "Bermuda Room" surrounded by beautiful gardens and views of the river. She will be remembered by all as a statuesque blond (often attired in the happiest shades of pink) with a sensibility of kindness, caring, and authentic interest in almost everyone she encountered.

Kix is survived by her brother Sam Baugh of Jamestown, Rhode Island.; his son Sam Jr. of Connecticut; sister Nina Baugh and her son Omari of Atlanta, Georgia; sister Bunny Lloyd and her daughters, Cricket and Nina of Clearwater, Florida; her cousin Prim Bullock of Jamestown, Rhode Island, who was by Kix’s side throughout her illness.

Kix will be deeply missed by so many and in lieu of flowers her family and friends suggest, as she always did, extend a kindness to someone else.

46 Forever!
