05/22/2024 09:45 AMOn May 16, 2024, Catherine (Walston) Parker, 84, a lifelong resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully at Solstice Senior Living. Catherine was born in New Haven on June 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Daniel Edward Walston and Rose (Yonkowski) Walston Tylecki. Devoted mother of Gary Parker and Lucille Kelly, grandmother of Justin Parker and fiancée Jennifer Mega, and Melissa Parker and fiancé Alessandro Puccio. Devoted mother of Sandra and David Sulkowski, grandmother of Parker and Margaret Sulkowski, and Stephanie and Michael Fumiatti II, and three great-grandchildren. Sister of Raymond Walston, Gladys Lombard (Gill), Richard Walston (Marie), Thomas Walston, and the late Daniel E. Walston (Maureen). She also leaves numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Catherine is a 1957 graduate of Guilford High School and enjoyed playing on the basketball and softball teams. After high school, she worked at the Guilford Savings Bank and then became a paralegal. Before retirement, she had worked as a paralegal for Arthur Carter in Guilford for many years. After retirement, her hobbies included gardening, painting, and running the arts and crafts tent at the Guilford Fair. She enjoyed watching her grandkids sporting events, traveling, hosting holidays, and going to her cottage in New Hampshire.
Friends are invited to calling hours from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Followed by a prayer service at the funeral home at 11:30 am. The burial will take place in Nut Plains Cemetery, 420 Nut Plains Rd, Guilford.
