Mary-Lou Pannone

Mary-Lou Pannone, age 82, of Northford, passed away surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer on May 13, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Pannone, and her siblings, Rita, Faye, Larry, John “Doc,” and Joe Fusco. She is survived by several family members, including two siblings, Anne Fusco of North Haven and Bob Fusco and his wife Mary-Ann, of Middletown; two sons, Alfred Raucci III and his wife Kathleen of Guilford and Andrew Raucci of Guilford; four grandchildren: Briana Raucci of Branford, Lauren Raucci and fiancé Robert Benco of Branford, Alfred Raucci IV of Guilford, and Mya Raucci of Guilford.

Mary-Lou was employed at First New Haven National Bank in the Trust Department and then worked at Harco Laboratories in Purchasing and Sales. She then left work for a few years to raise her sons. She attended South Central Community College and went to work as an assistant in a patent, trademark, and copyright law firm in New Haven and, after a few years, became an office manager for a mental health clinic. Her husband’s career took them to Arkansas for seven years, where she became a member of The Loose Threads Quilt Club, where she volunteered her services for battered women and made quilts for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon returning to Connecticut, she joined the Shoreline Quilters Guild and made many quilts for the Smilow Cancer Center. She taught her youngest grandchild how to quilt and entered her quilts into quilt shows. She loved to read, knit, and crochet as well, but her favorite passion was spending time with her family.

The visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go at noon on Friday, May 17, directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven, to attend a Mass of Christian burial.
