05/16/2024 10:37 AMGail H. Walsh passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2024, with her family by her side. Gail was born on June 10, 1940, in Guilford. She was the wife of Thomas J. Walsh of Clinton. She is predeceased by her brother, Frederick E. Hill Jr., and sister-in-law, Patricia Hill; her parents, Frederick E. Hill Sr. and Florence I. Hill. She was the mother of Tammy (Kurt) Hitzfeld of Charleston, Massachusetts., Maureen (Joseph) Talarczyk of Guilford, Sharon (Chris) Capezzone of Deep River, and Thomas P. (Jon) Walsh of Clinton. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Benjamin L. Hitzfeld (Tiffany), Joe T. Talarczyk Jr., Marina F. Capezzone, Max C. Capezzone, Brendan F. Talarczyk, and Isabella C. Capezzone; her sister-in-law Catherine (Kitty) Walsh; niece, Kelly (Mike) Hanke, Frederick E. (Denise) Hill III and Hank (Amy) Lindgren.
Gail was a 1958 graduate of Guilford High School. She was a majorette and a soda jerk at Douden’s Drugstore, making checkerberry sodas. She was a seamstress at The Village Seamstress with her friend Betsy Heery and sister-in-law Patty. She also worked with microchips at Batrow’s in Branford. Gail was a devoted wife and mother and adored her sweet basset hound, Nellie. She loved nature and snowmobiling in Maine. She loved baking, sewing, and hosting all holidays. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was the “rock” of our family.
Guilford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She was laid to rest on May 9 in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston Street, Guilford.
