Joseph Mocarski

On April 20, 2024, Joseph W. Mocarski, 88, a longtime resident of Madison, passed away at his home. He was the loving companion of Frances Hamilton. Mr. Mocarski was born in Stamford on Jan. 4, 1936, the son of the late Lawrence Mocarski and the late Jean (Czar) Mocarski. He was the father of Mark D. Mocarski of Bethesda, Maryland, Steven J. Mocarski of Bethesda, Maryland, and Nancy E. Mocarski of Thomaston, Maine. He is survived by his brothers, Alexander Mocarski of West Haven and Daniel Mocarski of Chamberlain, Maine.

Joseph honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a 1957 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Before retirement, he had worked as a marketing executive in product management for a number of well-known firms including General Foods, J. In addition to rooting for the Fighting Irish, Joseph made a point of celebrating the U.S. Marine Corps birthday every Nov. 10, without fail.
