Judith Martindale

On March 27, 2024, Judith (Beach) “Judi” Martindale, 82, a longtime resident of Clinton, peacefully passed away at Middlesex Hospital with her sons by her side.

Wife of the late Harry F. Martindale “Buddy,” they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in July. They enjoyed a wonderful life of adventures raising their boys in Guilford, and spending time at their homes in Denmark, Maine, Clinton and Sarasota, Florida. Mrs. Martindale was born in Derby on July 17, 1941, she graduated from Shelton High School and was the daughter of the late Lewis Beach and Myrtle (Morris) Beach.

She was the loving mother of Harry Martindale and his wife Lori of Clinton, and Lewis Martindale and his wife Marci of Westbrook. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Harry Martindale IV (Michelle), Kevin Martindale, Nicholas Martindale (Gabrielle), Caila Martindale (Albert), Alisabeth Martindale (Bryant), Rachael Nunez (Pedro), Rebecca Quinn (George), Melissa Quinn and Noah Quinn; and great-grandchildren: Abigail, Julianna, Harry V, Valentine, Grey, Lucan, Clover, Tierra, Luciana, Sky, Violet and Posey.

Judi enjoyed life. She and Buddy loved to spend time with their friends and family with lots of picnics, holidays, camping and card games. Most recently, she loved pizza parties with the kids, shrimp rolls, sitting on the front porch with Rebel, sending the great-grandchildren cards for every holiday and watching Saturday Night Fever or Grease reminiscing about the old days.

A special thank you to Alanna Oldham, who spent countless hours taking Judi shopping and out for lunch. It meant the world to her. Alanna is not just a friend, she is part of our family now.

Judi was one of the kindest people, always wanting the best in life for everyone. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take a moment to slow down, be grateful for little things and always be nice to one another, including strangers. We never know what someone else is going through in life.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 5, in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Road, North Haven. To share a memory or leave condolences, visit www.guilfordfuneralhome.com.
