04/04/2024 10:54 AMAlan R. Spano, 78, of North Haven, formerly of Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Maryjane Sansone Spano. Alan was born in Bridgeport on July 11, 1945, and was the son of the late Ernest and Mildred Judson Spano.

Alan worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years, retiring as a clerk. He was fiercely protective of his loved ones well-being and would never show up anywhere empty-handed; always offering a smile, food, and good conversation. He enjoyed singing in the choir when he was young, watching Hallmark, Lifetime, and the Food Network in retirement, observing the always changing seasons, adventuring to the casino, and most of all, being “Papa Al” and spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven.
