Mae L. (Frost) Genovese, 88, of Branford, formerly of New Haven, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 11, 1935, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Leslie and Ruth (LaTaille) Frost.

Mae is survived by her five loving children: Laura Grosso (Joseph) of Clinton, Maria Genovese (Christopher Gatehouse) of Clinton; Paul Genovese (Kristin Meneo) of Guilford; Carole Gravino (Scott) of Englewood, Florida; and Thomas Genovese (Rachel Jackson) of Manhasset, New York; and her six adoring grandchildren; Giuliana Grosso, Isabella Grimes, Chloe Grimes, Jordan Genovese, Zeke Genovese, and Caleb Genovese (expected in July). Mae is also survived by her siblings, Ruth Greco of North Haven and Marilyn Tessier of Vermont, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Genovese; her brother, Leslie Frost; and her sister, Esther Menta.

Mae graduated from Lyman Hall High School and Quinnipiac College and was employed as a bookkeeper/accountant for many years. She loved to travel, was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved to visit Boston. She was deeply religious and very involved in her church, serving on numerous committees. What brought her the most joy, however, was spending time with her grandchildren treasure-hunting at the beach. Those who knew Mae will remember her for her intellect, kindness, generosity, and dedication to her family, whom she loved unconditionally.
