John Corda Jr.
John Corda Jr., 93, of New Haven, died peacefully surrounded by his family at CT Hospice on Feb. 10, 2024. John was born in New Haven to the late John and Rose Corda. He was the loving husband of the late Carmellita Corda.
John was the owner and operator of New Haven Grinding for many years and also worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He was a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus since 1964. John proudly served in the United States Army.
John is survived by his daughter Linda Santanelli of East Haven; his grandchildren, Charles and Michael (Heather) Santanelli; his great-granddaughter Ella; his nieces and nephews: Albert Corda, Roseann Corda (Robert) Stetzer, Joseph (Jane) Corda and Scott Corda. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers: Michael, Mario, Joseph and Anthony Corda.
John’s funeral procession left the East Haven Memorial Funeral Home on Feb. 14 for a Mass of Christian burial at St. Pio of Pietrelcina-St. Vincent DePaul Church, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven. Calling hours were held on Feb. 13 at the funeral home. Burial followed the Mass where he was laid to rest next to his wife in Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven. a
