02/15/2024 11:21 AMJames H. Gifford II, formerly of Clinton, passed away Jan. 19, 2024, under Hospice care, with his mother and sister Debbie by his side, to be with God. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on Jan. 17, 1963, and moved to Clinton in 1966. He attended schools in Clinton at Morgan High School and then Haddam Killingworth High School in his junior year. He lived in Ft. Pierce, Florida, for the last 10 years.
James was a great carpenter. His work was well known here in Connecticut and in Florida. He also got into plumbing and electrical work and also worked on cars. He was very adventurous and especially loved sailing.
James leaves behind his mother Barbara A. White of Killingworth; father James H. Gifford of Chaplin; his sisters, Deborah, Donna, and Carolyn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves adult children, James, Laura, Crystal, and Steven, as well as five grandchildren.
A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on March 2, at St. Lawrence Church in Killingworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Middlesex Hospice Care in Middletown.
