Sarah Winslow Micciche
Sarah Winslow Micciche passed away on Jan. 16, 2024, following a brief illness. She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Roy (David) of Wilton, NH, Anne Coy (Doug) of Oxford, and Beth Micciche of Madison; granddaughters, Max and Becca Roy of Peterborough, New Hampshire; great-grandson Reuben; sister Pauline Gregory (Cabell) of Greenville, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews; and her granddogs, Maizie, Jameson, Marnie, Murphy and Elwood.
Sarah was born in Texas in 1942 and lived in Virginia, North Carolina, New York, and Massachusetts before settling in Madison with her family in 1974. She worked at home raising her daughters and eventually turned her love of sewing and creating into a career managing a fabric store. She then transitioned to banking and spent almost 20 years with Guilford Savings Bank before she retired in 2017.
Sarah loved spending her days working on her many complex puzzles, watching the birds at her always full feeders, doing crosswords, going to her gym in Guilford, cross stitching, and sewing. One of her favorite places was her sister’s mountain house in South Carolina, where she spent many afternoons relaxing on the porch and watching the hummingbirds. She was the unofficial neighborhood watch and an honorary mom, grandmother, and baby whisperer to many friends.
In lieu of flowers, Sarah’s family requests that you consider donating to Operation Smile or a charity of your choice. Friends are invited to call from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Riverview Room at the Lace Factory in Deep River.
