Richard Magliola
Richard Magliola, 72, of East Haven, passed away Dec. 26, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born on Dec. 24, 1951, in New Haven to the late Richard N. and Stephanie (Siekerski) Magliola.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara (Zullo) Magliola, and their two children, Andrew Magliola (Alyssa) of Madison and Melissa Wheeler (Brian) of North Branford. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, whom he adored: Ryan Magliola, Logan Magliola, Collins Magliola, and Bennett Wheeler.
He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service with over 40 years of service, retiring in 2018 from the Wallingford office. He was an avid New York Giants and Yankee fan who enjoyed swimming at the YMCA in Branford. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and was an old car enthusiast. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all, especially his “weekly coffee friends.”
Family received friends on Dec. 29 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Dec. 30 in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
