Joseph Samajean
On Nov. 27, 2023, Joseph Samajean, 90, of Guilford, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away at Artis Nursing Center in Branford. Husband of the late Lillian Samajean. Joseph was born in Grand-Lahou, Cote d’Ivoire on March 18, 1933, son of the late Jamil Samajean and Marie (Gulesserian) Samajean.
Loving father of Joseph Samajean and his wife Debra of Phoenix and Jeri Perkins and her husband Peter of Guilford. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Samajean, Zachariah Perkins, and Howell, and beloved cousins of Hermine, Annahed, and Sonia.
Joseph honorably served his country of France in the Army during the 1950s on the continent of Africa. He was a proud Armenian and fluently spoke five languages. Before retirement, he was self-employed as a watchmaker, diamond setter, and jeweler for many years. He traveled extensively and loved all nature and animals. Nothing brought more joy than talking with babies.
His family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care given to their father by his Homecare companion, Karen Daigle, and all the staff at Artis Senior Living of Branford.
