Loreto Nicoletti
Loreto Nicoletti of 36 Sea Crest Road in Old Saybrook passed away on Nov. 2. Loreto was born in Frosinone, Italy, where he learned to become a tailor at a young age. After immigrating to Bristol, he worked as a tailor and became a United States citizen. He owned his own tailor shop, dry cleaner, and clothier. His expert tailoring skills earned him many loyal customers and good friends. Loreto is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 59 years; his daughter, Dr. Lori Van Meter and her husband, Kristopher; his son, Greg Nicoletti; and his wife, Colleen. His precious grandchildren include Nathan Loreto and his wife Amber, Sharon Nicole, Kristi Ann, Justin Loreto, and Megan Marie. Loreto will also be missed by his loyal companion, Bandit. Loreto enjoyed playing golf, gardening, playing cards, and a challenging game of bocce, showing everyone how to play the Italian way! Loreto’s family will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 at St. John’s Church in Old Saybrook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
