Angela DeNardi
Angela “Angie” DeNardi of Branford passed away peacefully in her home on Nov. 4. She was the wife of 67 years of the late Mario DeNardi.
She was predeceased by her five brothers and two sisters. She was the mother of Marie Gordon (Scott) of Guilford and Jean Ventura (Tony) of Branford. She also leaves behind Virginia “Ginny” Borgia, who was considered a third daughter for over 60 years, and Angela Dennisur, who was her beloved caregiver who became part of the family. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erica (Shane) Walden, Erin (Ed) Gordon, and Robert Luce; and two great-grandchildren, Leah Walden and Emery Simpson; and many nieces and nephews.
Angie was born in New Haven on Sept. 20, 1927, a daughter of the late James and Teresa Lonetti. She was a long-time resident of Stony Creek.
Angie was known for her baking. If you were her relative, friend, doctor, insurance man, accountant, mailman, priest, waitress at their favorite restaurants, or school teacher, she baked for you. Her kitchen table was a gathering place for friends and neighbors, and her home was always filled with love and laughter.
Angie was an award-winning salesperson and active in her community.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Nov. 8 at St. Therese Church of St. John Bosco in Branford. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery in Guilford. There will be no calling hours. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, is in care of arrangements.
