Yen “Annie” Doll
Yen “Annie” Doll, 68, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Oct. 29 at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael Campus with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Robert Doll, the loving mother of Belinda Salvestrini and her partner Tommy Taylor and David Salvestrini and his partner Heather Salato, and the beloved Mema of Jessie and Wyatt Taylor and Emily Salvestrini.
Annie was born in Thailand on July 20, 1955, and came to America in 1969. She had worked as an assembler for the former Marlin Firearms. She was full of energy and enjoyed going to the flea market and playing slots on her many gambling trips to Atlantic City, Foxwoods, and Mohegan Sun. She loved listening to a wide range of music and cherished her large collection of cassettes. She particularly admired Elvis and was an avid fan. Annie was a great cook and loved preparing meals for dinner parties, holidays, and picnics for her friends and family. At the request of the late Father Joe, Annie prepared a dinner at the St. Monica’s Rectory for the Arch Bishop and his priests during their visit for confirmation.
One of Annie’s greatest gifts was spreading joy and helping friends, family, and total strangers, whether it was giving money or clothing to the homeless or sending candy down the church pews during Mass to a crying child. Annie was always cheerful, enjoyed life, and touched everyone she met with her caring and generous love.
The visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
