Sandra Ann Custodio
Sandra Ann Custodio, 77, formerly of Lincoln, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully in her love-filled Essex home on Oct. 24, surrounded by her family. Sandra, the daughter of Adelbert and Cecilia (McCaffrey) Bell, was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and graduated from Central Falls High School in 1963. She lived most of her life in Rhode Island before moving to Connecticut later in life to be closer to family.
Sandra is survived by Anthony Custodio Jr., her loving husband of 57 years, and their children: Vickie Corbett and her husband Robert of Chester, Anthony Custodio III and his wife Terri of Brighton, Tennessee, and Pat Custodio. She also leaves behind three grandchildren who brought her much joy: Tazmin, McCaffrey, and Kilraen Corbett.
Sandra was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an avid genealogist who discovered she is a descendant of Roger Williams. She was a member of Women’s Aglow and attended many Bible studies. She loved knitting and cross-stitching, was an avid reader, and her Christmas cookies will be missed by many.
Sandra will be celebrated at a memorial service, followed by repast at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Essex.
