Peter Leo Minchoff
Peter Leo Minchoff, known to his family as “Pete the Greek,” passed away on Sept. 30 following a long battle with cancer. He was born on Oct. 20, 1940, in Webster, Massachusetts. He is survived by his two children, Michael and India, of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Carmen. Peter also leaves behind a beautiful sister, Stephanie Komertz; a brother, Michael Regina and his wife Cheryl; as well as several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Peter grew up with his mother and extended family in Fabian, a town he considered to be the quaintest in the USA. Peter was exceptionally proud of his Greek/Albanian heritage. He was also proud to have attended college at the University of Bridgeport and to have returned to the University to obtain a degree in psychology after his service in the US Navy. For the past 35 years, Peter lived in Branford, where he was often seen with his cherished dog, Doe, or reading the racing form.
He will be sorely missed by family and friends and fondly remembered for his wit, intelligence, and empathy for others.
