10/20/2023 01:30 PMRalph “Sonny” Notaro, 92, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11 at MidState Medical Center with his family by his side. Ralph was born in New Haven on Feb. 8, 1931, and was the son of the late Angelo and Carmela Cuccaro Notaro.
A graduate of the former Boardman Trade School, Ralph was a tool & die maker for Cheshire Products and Eyelet Specialties for many years until his retirement. After retirement, Ralph worked for the Town of North Haven Public Works Department until retiring in January of this year. He was a member of the Hamden Jaycees, the West Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, and was a volunteer North Haven Fire Policeman for many years. Ralph was a former North Haven Fire Commissioner and a Justice of the Peace.
He was the father of Barbara (Chris) Migliaro, Susan (Robert) Busillo, Ralph Notaro II and Karen (David) Zeoli; grandfather of Carissa (Jeff) Naples, Christopher (Kate) Migliaro, Michael (Chelese) Migliaro, Peter (Melissa) Giatrelis, Brendan (Liz) Giatrelis, Michael (Danielle) Busillo, Sarah (Ben) McNamee, Lauren (Dan) Masella, Samantha (Kevin) Rodriguez, Anthony, and Alicia Notaro; brother of Josephine (John) Early, Anthony Notaro, Frank (Carol) Notaro and the late Maryann Buonasora, Robert, and Rosemary Notaro. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; his special friend Masako Miller; his good friends, Mark and Lucille DeGregorio; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Also surviving are his dog Chase and cat Zeus.
The visiting hours were on Oct. 16 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A parlor service followed. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.www.northhavenfuneral.com.
