Mildred Millea
Mildred M. “Millie” Millea of Branford died on Sept. 29 at Apple Rehabilitation Center-Laurel Woods in East Haven. She was the beloved wife of Martin J. Millea Jr. Millie was born April 23, 1942, in Guilford, daughter of the late Andrew and Mildred Hoeflich Mako.
She was a 1960 graduate of East Haven High School. Millie worked for United Nuclear Corporation as a secretary for 12 years before moving on to U. S. Repeating Arms and Mossberg’s. She ended her working career as the McGivney Guild Director for the Knights of Columbus.
Besides Martin, she is survived by three stepsons, Martin J. Millea III (Deborah) of North Haven, Scott B. Millea (Janice) of North Haven, and Christopher W. Millea (Jennifer) of Cheshire; her brother Robert Mako (Karen) of Wallingford; and seven step-grandchildren.
The funeral was on Oct. 5 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and a Mass of Christian burial was in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford.
