Frank Vincent Donroe
Mr. Frank Vincent Donroe passed away on Sept. 24 at the Harbor Chase Assisted Living facility in Branford. He was born in 1933 and was a lifetime resident of Branford. He was the son of Clara and Frank Donnorummo, also longtime residents of Branford. He was predeceased by his wife, Mrs. Jane (O’Neill) Donroe. They lived on Surrey Lane in Branford.
Frank leaves behind his brother, Dr. Bob Donnorummo and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Christine Donnorummo, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as his three nieces, Francine Donnorummo, Esq. (Fort Myers, Florida), Michele Carr (San Antonio, Texas) and Jacqueline Bovier (Pittsburgh).
Frank was a 1951 graduate of Branford High School, and he graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1958. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Frank was a personnel manager for a number of local firms, including Seamless Rubber and New Haven Trap Rock. He was also an active volunteer for a variety of community and church organizations, especially those dealing with homelessness. Frank was a communicant at St. Mary Church of St. John Bosco Parish in Branford, where he was a deacon, a member of the Cornerstone group, a lay Dominican, and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.
Frank will be sorely missed by his many friends and relatives, including his beloved Godson and caregiver, Mr. Paul Giordano of Branford.
Visitation was held on Oct. 3 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Burial will be private. Please see his online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com.
