John Edward Goselin
John Edward Goselin, 92, of Hartford, loving husband of 51 years to Donna (Tully) Goselin, passed away peacefully on Sept. 19. John was born on Aug. 18, 1931, one of four children of the late John Goselin and Antoinette (Parente) Goselin. John was predeceased by his three sisters, Marguerite “Peggy” Melvin, Dorothy Anderson, and Eleanor Nail.
In addition to his wife, Donna, John leaves two daughters, Lori Ryff and her husband, Beat, and Jennifer Ford and her husband, Glenn. He also leaves three grandchildren, Ian Hardcastle and his wife Veronica, Grace Ford, and Kevin Ryff. John was sadly predeceased by two daughters, Kim Goselin and Christine Brandi, and a precious great-granddaughter, Charli Hardcastle.
John was employed for over 30 years with SNET, holding various roles before his retirement. He was an ardent sports fan, always rooting for his St. Louis Cardinals and UConn Huskies. He was a selectman in Chester and a Paul Harris Fellow in the Chester Rotary. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a torpedo man from 1950 to 1954. John was an avid golfer, enjoying many rounds of golf with his buddies while living at Meadow Hill in Glastonbury. He enjoyed his cousins’ yearly reunion and good times with his family, whom he loved very much.
Calling hours were on Sept. 27, concluding with a prayer service at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
