Beverly Jean Bond (Stouffer), 91, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Aug. 20. Born on Nov. 7, 1931, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Beverly devoted her entire life to her family.
She had a lifelong love of sports. She was a dedicated UConn basketball and Eagles football fan. She was always present for all events, including her husband’s car racing and her daughters’ and grandchildren’s school and sporting activities, and she always cheered them on with great enthusiasm. She also had a love for bowling and bingo and cherished all her friends she met along the way. She always enjoyed her visits to her family in Pennsylvania. She was affectionately named “Bingo, Bowling Bev” by her nieces and nephews, whom she always held dear to her heart.
Beverly leaves behind her son, James Bond Jr.; and daughters, Lisa Farrell (Kevin) and Leah Smirnow; grandchildren: Jeremy, Trisha, and Tiffany Bond, and Timothy and Kristen Farrell and Shannon and Sydney Smirnow. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, James Bond Sr., in 2009 and her granddaughter, Jillian Bond, in 1989.
A private ceremony will be held in Beverly’s honor to join her loving husband in their memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Old Saybrook Estuary in her memory.
