08/25/2023 06:41 AMAlbert “Frenchie” French Jr., 95, lifelong resident of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was born June 10, 1928 in New Haven, to Albert Sr. and Rose (Streeto) French. Albert is survived by his loving wife, Rose (Travasano) Longofono, and a large and loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Laurie French; and two brothers, Richard “Richie” French and James “Jim” French.
Al worked as a heavy machinery mechanic for Adley Trucking and Tilcon, retiring in 1990. He was a proud member of I.U.O.E. Local No.478 and longtime member of the BPOE Lodge #1939 in Branford. He enjoyed adventures both large and small. Sometimes he found them, and sometimes they found him. But, there were always great stories and laughs afterwards.
To respect Al’s wishes, a private burial with Full US Army Military Honors was held at the East Lawn Cemetery in East Haven under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 in memory of Albert French Jr.
