Leonard J. Wishart
Leonard “Lenny” J. Wishart of North Haven passed away peacefully on Aug. 13 at the age of 79. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Linda (DelGuidice); his former wife Kathleen (Manocchi) and their children, Leonard Jr. (Kira), Debra Lynch (Joseph), and Maria Manske (Kyle); and stepchildren, Vincent Camera Jr. (Dale), Paula Camera (Frank) and Nicolle Camera. Also mourning this tremendous loss are his sisters, Joyce Koutsopolos (James) and Jeanne Salzo (the late James), along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Lenny lived for his 11 grandchildren, whom he loved immensely and were the greatest joys of his life: Ryan and Justin Lynch, Griffin and Gunner Manske, Lauren and Sophia Wishart, Joseph Kennealy, Vincent Camera III, Christopher Ciarleglio, Gianna Buonocore and Nicholas Romano.
Born in West Haven in 1944, son of Leonard and Ann Wishart, Lenny served his country in the United States Navy and later courageously served the citizens of New Haven as a proud member of the fire service for 25 years. With his boisterous personality and witty sense of humor, Lenny brought smiles and laughter to everyone who had the good fortune to know him. A master storyteller, he always got the punch line right and had an easy-going and affable disposition. Lenny never backed down from a challenge and was an ambitious businessman, succeeding in many endeavors throughout the years. He was also a real numbers guy, and the odds were almost always in his favor. In addition to spending time with his family, Lenny enjoyed tending to his yard and swimming in his pool, which he was so proud of. Being a husband, father, and friend was his life’s purpose.
