Alan Loveridge
Alan H. Loveridge of Sarasota, Florida, and Block Island, Rhode Island, passed away on Aug. 11. Alan was born May 1, 1934, in Waterbury, to Stuart and Edna Hubbard Loveridge. He was married to Barbara Larson Loveridge for 67 years.
He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Class of 1956. Alan and Barbara raised their family in Middlebury.
Alan worked in the trucking and storage industry, followed by the real estate development industry. After retirement, whether he was up north or in Sarasota, he enjoyed daily walks, taking care of his home and yard, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark (Elizabeth) of Sarasota and Lynn Kling (Frank) of Madison, as well as five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, including Hailey Griffin (Sarah Catherine), Julia Desmond (Colin), Alex Loveridge (Chelsey), Liza Rowan (Ray), Olivia Loveridge, Drew Kling, and Caroline Kling (Ilya Vilnits). Alan was also the great-grandfather of five beautiful great-grandchildren, including: Alina, Robin, Ethan, Grace, and Tessa. Alan was predeceased by his brother Stuart and his nephew Andrew. He is survived by Stuart’s wife, Priscilla, and their children, Margot, Elinor, and Tracey. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bill Larson and his family in Hailey, Idaho.
A private family service will be held in Sarasota, with burial to follow in the Island Cemetery on Block Island.
