08/11/2023 05:58 AMCarol May (Kozlowski) Rzasa, born May 1, 1947, of Old Saybrook, passed away peacefully on Aug. 2 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late John and Irene (Sluboski) Kozlowski.
Carol held a number of management positions in the health insurance field, most recently as vice president at Precept Advisory Group. She was always active in politics and public service from an early age and was most recently the Town Of Old Saybrook Tax Collector and member of the town garden club.
Carol loved to take long walks in the morning with her best friend, Ellie the Chihuahua. Carol was a very giving person and always lent a helping hand without being asked. Carol was a devoted Catholic. She was a Eucharistic Minister and assisted with the financial affairs of Saint John’s Parish. Carol was a graduate of Cromwell High School and Marymount College.
She leaves her beloved children, John Patrick Rzasa of Massachusetts and Kathryn Rzasa of Connecticut. She also leaves behind her sister Gail Bugnacki of Middletown; brother Robert and his wife, Roseann Kozlowski of Holiday, Florida; and her niece Emma Veseskis. Carol will be dearly missed by her many loving cousins and friends. Carol is predeceased by her brother John Kozlowski of Kensington.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in St. John Church, Old Saybrook. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, following the Mass.
