07/27/2023 10:14 AMThomas “Tom” Skerritt passed away peacefully in Branford on July 18. Tom had an infectious laugh, and his humor and wit will be missed by friends and family. He cherished his nieces, nephew, and great-nephews and his friendships, many of which stretched over decades. He was a devoted son, and his mother meant the world to him.
Tom was born to the late Darline Nardini and the late Francis Skerritt on March 18, 1953, in Hartford. He loved growing up in Branford and attended Branford High School and Nathanial Hawthorn College in New Hampshire. He followed in his late stepfather Fred (Fortunato) Nardini’s footsteps and worked as a conductor for Metro-North Railroad.
Tom is survived by his sister, Eileen Nolan (Mike) of Lutz, Florida; his nieces, Marlene Davis (Mike) of Lutz, and Melissa Blaney of Annapolis, Maryland; his nephew Michael Nolan of Tampa, Flroida; and five wild and crazy great-nephews.
Private services for Tom will be held at a later date.
