Patricia White Ross
Patty was born at Yale New Haven Hospital and grew up on the family homestead in Stony Creek with her parents, John and Josephine White, and her four siblings. She attended UConn and Quinnipiac College and married Herbert L Ross on Sept. 24, 1962, at the Stony Creek Congregational Church. They had two daughters and continued to live in “the Creek” for most of their lives.
She enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, and, most of all, time with family and friends. She was an active member of the Stony Creek Church for many years, a lifelong Democrat, and successfully helped to fundraise for her brother-in-law Unk DaRos when he ran for first selectman of Branford. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was compassionate and nursed several family members and family friends during times of need.
She is survived by her two daughters, Allison and Kimberly Ross; two grandsons, Anthony and Jordan Ross; two sisters, Kathleen DaRos and husband Unk (Anthony) and Valerie White Ghyssels and husband George (Denny); and her brother John “Jack” White and wife Cindy from Ponte Vedra, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, in the Stony Creek Congregational Church, 192 Thimble Island Road, Branford. Burial will take place privately.
