07/06/2023 03:03 PMWith sadness, we announce that Jane Creamer Daych passed away on June 9 at the age of 95 and a half in Madison. Jane was born in Bronxville, New York, on December 6, 1927, to Marie Elizabeth Watts “Babe” and Joseph J. Creamer. She was married to Herman C. Daych for 30 years.
Jane is survived by her three daughters, Denise “Dennie” and her companion Peter Daupern of Stamford, Dana Faulkner of Washington, D.C., and Diane and her husband Joseph Havran, the best son-in-law ever, of Madison. She is also survived by her grandchildren: James “Jamie” Edington Havran and Jacqueline “Jackie” Barrett Havran. In addition, she is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Sue (Bill) Harrigan, Barry (Mary), Jack (Julie), Jim (Helena), Tom, John (Jeannie Longo), and Bobby Creamer, Louise Belhumeur, and Ellen Sitron; and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew; as well as numerous Hains step-nieces and nephews, all of whom doted on their “Aunt Jane.” In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was predeceased by her siblings: Gerard, John, Robert, and Martha, as well as her devoted grandmother, Mary Veronica Delaney Watts “Nana,” who raised her after her mother’s very early death. Also predeceasing her were her niece Ann Creamer Muller; her stepfamily, the Accles, including Elizabeth “Bessie,” Eleanor, Bill, and Elizabeth Hains; and her stepson Donald Lequire Daych.
Jane returned to college while she was raising her daughters in Scarsdale, New York, and had a long, satisfying career as a social worker at Cardinal McCloskey Home in White Plains, New York. She enjoyed the outdoors, including playing tennis and even walking daily until the end. She was an outgoing, independent woman and greatly enjoyed her neighbors and many friends while living at Fenimore Gardens in Mamaroneck, New York, and, for the last five years, at the Hearth of Tuxis Pond in Madison.
Services were held on June 14 at Edward L. Bennett Funeral home in Scarsdale, New York, with a Mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, with burial at First Calvary in Woodside, Queens.
Our deep gratitude to Kathy True, Regina Gara, Dr. Jean Henry, Michelle Walker, Michelle Czaja, Coco and Dr. Prestia of Connecticut Hospice, and all the staff at the Hearth at Tuxis Pond in Madison, particularly Cynthia, Tyrone and Dennis, for their loving care and support of our mom.
