Louis Pasquale Liscio
Our beloved husband and father, Louis Pasquale “Louie” Liscio, 87, of East Haven, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on May 2. Louie was born on Feb. 17, 1936, in Monteleone, a province of Foggia, Italy.
He came to America in 1948 when he was 12 years old. He was always very proud of his Italian heritage. He started working at Furniture Transport, where he met his wife, Judy, and he eventually was the proud owner/operator of Associated Furniture Freightways in North Haven. Louie and Judy were married on Nov. 13, 1965, and lived for many years, raising their children on Brockett’s Point Road in Branford. They lived in Naples, Florida, in the winters and then retired to East Haven. Louie was a long-time member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club, where his family enjoyed their boat, No Problem, which symbolized his motto in life. He was also an avid gardener. He was truly one of the good guys.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Carmella Liscio; his sisters, Vera Massielo and Phyllis DeNisi; and his son Gary Lee Mauzy. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly Judith (Robinson) Liscio; his daughters, Lisa Marie Liscio, of Branford, and Deanna Theresa (Liscio) Hill; and son-in-law Jeffrey Dean Hill, of Tualatin, Oregon; his son, Joel Louis Liscio, of East Haven, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Mauzy. He also is survived by his grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann (Mauzy) Conti, Alexandria Alice Mauzy, Sonya Anne Piacente, Jeffrey Louis Hill, Sarah Marie Hill, Emma Renee Hill, and Gianni Thomas Liscio; two great-grand-children, Carissa Leigh Conti and Joseph Aeron Conti; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be loved and missed forever.
A memorial for family and friends will be held at noon on Friday, May 26, at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon. A celebration of life will follow at Doody’s in North Branford, where Lou and Judy had their first date.
