Gerald Timothy Hunt Jr.
On April 19, Gerald Timothy Hunt Jr., 77, a longtime resident of Madison, formerly of Jamaica Plain and Boston, Marion, Massachusetts, and Southport, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital. Mr. Hunt was born in Dedham, Massachusetts, on Nov. 22, 1945, son of the late Gerald T. Hunt Sr. and Eleanor (Kern) Hunt. He was the brother of Stephen Hunt and his wife, Sally Waters Hunt of Yarmouth, Maine.
Gerald graduated from Dedham Senior High School in 1963, and Suffolk University in 1975. He proudly served in US Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Korea, on the DMZ during the Vietnam War as a Cryptography Sergeant. Before retirement, Gerald had worked as a food broker in Boston and Connecticut, and later he operated GT Hunt Foods. During his retirement, he sold cars at a local Ford dealership and drove for a limousine service. He loved the ocean, sailing, and reading a good book. He traveled extensively for his business and pleasure and especially liked the Caribbean and warmer climates.
A family graveside service will be held at the Crematory Garden of the Holy Cross Cemetery on Smith Street in Yarmouth, Maine.
