04/07/2023 06:50 AMMichelina (Antenucci) Armellino, 92, of East Haven, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Faicchio, Italy to Pasquale and Giuseppina (Tamaso) Antenucci.
Michelina is survived by her three devoted children, Apollonia Riccio (Alfred) of New Haven, Domenic Armellino (Charlene) of East Haven, and Gasperina Casertano (widow of Anthony) of East Haven, along with eight grandchildren who she adored, Maryann Supik (Chris), Angelo Riccio, Lisa Funaro (Marc), Emilio Armellino, Michelle Armellino, Alena Shepard (Brian), Nicole Baumhor (Brad), Jessica Casertano (Daniel Gleason); nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mario Antenucci (Rosa) of Italy. Michelina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emilio Armellino (1990); and her siblings, Giuseppina Cutillo, Rosa Esposito, Maria Maturo, Marco Antenucci, and Salvatore Antenucci.
Michelina worked at Strauss Adler for many years as a seamstress. She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and her many flowers. She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed making homemade bread, pizza, and pasta for everyone to enjoy. What she loved most of all was spending time with the family she so adored.
Family will receive friends from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 10, in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. Her funeral procession will then leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven, with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
