03/30/2023 08:50 AMIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Agnes Femniak Bowen. She was married for 69 years to the late Ernest Bowen. Born in 1923, she was a daughter of Daniel and Mary Magna Femniak and was raised in Spring Glen.
She was a full-time housewife and mother of five daughters. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and card games. Her daughters and grandchildren remember her beautiful flower gardens, which she planted each spring from seeds saved from the previous year. She enjoyed bus trips visiting sites throughout the country with her daughter Diana. She was an avid reader and enjoyed summer concerts on the Green, family bonfire picnics, and visiting the seashore. Sunday dinner was a favorite mealtime with family.
Agnes was very proud of her five daughters: Patricia (Frank), Christine (Herb), Kathleen (Victor), Diana (Albert), and Jean (John); and her grandchildren: Virginia (Donald), Deloris (Eric), Regina (Matthew), Richard (Cathie), Raymond (Kelly), and Michael (Nicole); and her great-grandchildren Brittany, Hayley, Anthony, J.P., Willow, and Sofia. The youngest of nine children, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Her family supported her wish to remain at home surrounded by her loved ones, for which she was grateful. Conversations always ended with, “Love you bunches and bunches,” which was repeated right back to her.
Family and friends were invited to go directly to the office of All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, on Feb. 3 and follow in procession for a graveside service. The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, was entrusted with the arrangements. www.northhavenfuneral.com.
