Catherine (Alaimo) Kelley
On March 3, Catherine (Alaimo) Kelley, 94, a longtime resident of Guilford and most recently of Madison, passed away peacefully at CT Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late James Kelley. Catherine was born in Enfield on Aug. 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Alaimo.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret O’Brien; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren, and her sister Dorothy DeCrisantis. Catherine lived a full, vibrant life, often enjoying activities such as playing cards, knitting, square dancing, and cross-country skiing. She was a master in the kitchen, creating memorable holiday dinners (and impeccable pie crusts). She traveled throughout the United States and Europe and later moved to Guilford to spend more time with her granddaughters. In her later years, she resided in Madison and continued to enjoy daily walks throughout the town center.
Friends are invited to a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10, in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Road, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, Guilford, CT 06437; www.guilfordfreelibrary.org.
