Terry McElligott

Terry McElligott passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, with family by his side. He leaves behind his loving wife Valerie (Fazzina) McElligott and her extended family who loved him very much. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, a sibling, and a niece. He is survived by two siblings.

Before retiring in 2016, he worked 27 years in Laborers’ Union Local 547. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved sharing those experiences with good friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews when they were children. A sports fanatic, he loved everything Yankees, Notre Dame, Giants, and Syracuse.

Most of all, he loved Val and their beloved dog Kelly. Over the years, they enjoyed traveling to Italy, Hawaii, and Ireland and also enjoyed many summer vacations in Maine.

Valerie would like to thank the staff at Yale New Haven who cared for Terry through the years, Dr. Seropian and Dr. Gorshein, and Ashley, his nurse, who was with us when he passed.

Friends and family were invited to a visitation on Feb. 8 at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford.
