02/09/2023 11:15 AMDennis Anthony Granata, 71, of North Haven, passed away on Jan. 31, surrounded by his family. Dennis was born in New Haven on Aug. 22, 1951, the son of the late Alexander and Angelina Granata.
He is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of 49 years, Jean Granata. In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by his son Christopher Granata and his wife Jessica of North Haven; his son Nicholas Granata and his wife Lisa of North Haven; his daughter Alyssa Granata-Basso and her husband Marc of Southington; and his beloved four grandchildren, Joshua, Jack, Lila, and Nathan. He was predeceased by his sister Alexis Clark.
Dennis enjoyed the simple things in life and encouraged those close to him to do the same. In his words, “simplify” was the way of life. He was a family man and put those he loved above all else. He cherished spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his grandpups, Fitch, Winnie, and Sophie. Dennis was also an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.
The visiting hours were on Feb. 6 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Feb. 7 in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven. Interment will be privately held in All Saints Cemetery.
