Brian Fenn Jobson
Brian Fenn Jobson, 72, of Essex, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Feb. 1. Born in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on Jan. 16, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Enid (Beyer) Jobson.
Brian was raised in Larchmont, New York. His family was active sailors, and Brian spent much of his childhood both in the Larchmont Yacht Club Junior Racing Program and competing with his family. He graduated from Mamaroneck High School and went on to receive a BS in biology from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts.
Brian found fulfillment in a career filled with travel and people. Brian was an applications engineer for MacDermid Inc. He and his wife, Susan (Martin) Jobson moved to Essex, where he was an active member of the Dry Pants Model Yacht Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, gardening, bird watching, and trap shooting, but above all loved spending time with his family, including his “granddogs.”
Brian is survived by his wife Susan (Martin) Jobson, son Eric and daughter Erin and their spouses, Margaret and Hal; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Scarlett Jobson, and Graham and Ashton Rechler; and his “granddogs,” Boomer and Hunter. He is predeceased by his sister Jillian (Jobson) Poindexter but survived by brother-in-law Charles Poindexter and niece Lindsay Poindexter.
Brian’s family would like to thank the amazing cardiac and pulmonary teams at Yale New Haven Hospital for the support and comfort they gave him in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Essex Library or Essex EMS.
