01/26/2023 10:45 AMOn Jan. 23, William F. Oppelt, a longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully at Apple Health Care of Old Saybrook. Husband of the late Felicia (Capezzone) Oppelt. Bill was born in Hartford on May 5, 1930, the son of the late William F. Oppelt, Sr. and Theresa (Fody) Oppelt.
He is survived by a niece Joanna Davis of Branford; his good friend Sandy Marra; along with his extended Capezzone family of brothers and sisters–in–law and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Robert Oppelt.
Before retirement, Bill was a leadman of assembly for Royal Typewriter. He always enjoyed family gatherings and his casino trips.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford. Burial will follow Mass in St. George Cemetery, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, CT 06437.
