01/19/2023 10:23 AMSuzanne (Kimball) Lambert, age 87, of East Lyme, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, after a short battle with cancer. Born and raised in Bangor, Maine, she was a graduate of Hampden Academy and later, Husson Business School and eventually settled in Madison.
Suzanne’s first love was her family, whether it was hosting family gatherings during the holidays, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events/activities or functions for extended family, you could always find her on the dance floor at these functions. For those that knew Suzanne, her passion was real estate. Along with her husband Paul, they built a prominent business in Madison, and the surrounding communities. She loved watching all levels of basketball and especially the UConn women’s Huskies team.
Suzanne was the loving wife to her husband, E. Paul Lambert, mother to Leslie (Lambert) McCloskey and husband Justin of Madison, and Paul Lambert and wife Kristin of Bridgewater, Mass.; grandmother to Matthew McCloskey, Michelle McCloskey, Nicholas Lambert, Kevin Lambert and Jack Lambert; sister to Douglas Williams and wife Constance; aunt to Jason and Jeremy Williams; cousin to Sally Duncan, who was more like a sister, and her husband John, and their children, JD and Caroline. Suzanne was predeceased by her mother Olive Williams; her Uncle Doug and Aunt Freda Harrington; and her granddaughter Allison Lambert.
A special “thank you” goes to the nurses from the VNA of Southeast Connecticut and the nurses at Beacon Hospice.
There will be no calling hours and Interment will be private. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Jan. 28, at St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy Street, Madison. A Celebration of Life reception will follow in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Suzanne’s memory to: Amedisys Foundation, Care of Beacon Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 1802, East Hartford, CT. 06108.
