01/19/2023 10:25 AMGeorge C. Koch, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Jan. 12 at Ocean Meadows Senior Memory Care in Clinton. George lived in Madison for his entire life, where he was married to his beloved wife Judith for 55 years.
George was a graduate of the University of Connecticut with an associate degree in agriculture. He worked at RR Donnelley & Sons for over 20 years as a line operator before starting a new career as owner and operator of Country Sanitation of Madison. He enjoyed many hobbies, including furniture making, beekeeping, lobstering, and racing homing pigeons. George was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always had good advice and a listening ear. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Koch; a brother, John Koch Jr. of Madison; stepchildren, Jonathan Brown and Ellen Aub of Madison; grandchildren, Samantha Romano of Middletown, Joshua Romano of West Haven, Thea (James) Jansky of East Haddam, Anita Aub of Branford; great-grandchildren, Harley and Laurel Robnett. George was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Koch; his brother Frederick (Judy) Koch; and his stepdaughter Melissa Dunn.
A memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, directly in the First Congregational Church of Madison, 26 Meeting House Ln., Madison.
