Madelyn ‘Dottie’ Capobianco
Entered into rest, Nov. 30, Madelyn “Dottie” Capobianco, 104, of Branford, formerly of New Haven; born in Providence, Rhode Island. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, the daughter of the late John D’Antico and Mary Battaglia D’Antico.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Nicholas Capobianco; and was also predeceased by her sister Patsy Belcher. Madelyn is survived by her children, Joyce Solomon and her husband Neil, Thomas Capobianco and his wife Nicolle DiVito, and Lisa Capobianco and her daughter Sophia Nicole Capobianco, and Madelyn’s beloved granddaughter.
Madelyn worked for many years as an executive secretary for the Glass Containers Corp. She was a former parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Rosary Society. She was an active member in the Lioness Club and the New Haven Women’s Club. She volunteered at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, as well as the St. Raphael’s Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed the many friendships she developed through these organizations after her retirement.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Branford, followed by Entombment in All Saints Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter of Branford CT.
