01/05/2023 10:13 AMDonna S. Thomas of Clinton passed away on Dec. 25 at her home.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1938, in New Britain, the daughter of Howard Galoway Sleath and Ruth Mae Sleath.
Donna was a graduate of The Morgan School. Worked for over 25 years and retired from Chesebrough Ponds and Unilever, as a lab technician in the health and beauty industry. She met the love of her life Arthur, and they were married at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Advent in Clinton. Donna and Arthur had 65 wonderful years together. Growing up, Donna’s family loved the area’s beaches and going to Hammonasset Beach State Park. This was the reason her parents decided to move to the area.
Some things that Donna enjoyed throughout her life were crocheting, crafts, bowling, and riding her bicycle. She also loved her flower gardens and plants. Donna was always a compassionate, giving, and caring person. Always taking care of her family, and proud of her grandchildren. Donna was always there for everyone when they needed her, and never failed to keep her home running and her family feeling loved. All her family agrees, she was an amazing, more than one in a million wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a good cook and made special desserts for her grandchildren on birthdays or for accomplishments in school.
Donna is survived by her husband Arthur R. Thomas, Sr.; daughter Cindy T. Little and her husband David B. Little, of Clinton; sons, Arthur R. Thomas, Jr., of Centerbrook, and Michael A. Thomas and his wife Kerstin of Clinton; grandchildren, Justin D. Little, Trenton Thomas, Marisa Thomas, and Michael Rock.
Donna was predeceased by her siblings, Howard Sleath and Gloria Watrous.
