01/05/2023 09:44 AMOn Jan. 2, Barbara Ann Titley, 75, longtime resident of Norwalk and most recently of Madison, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital. Barbara was born in Stamford on March 21, 1947, daughter of the late Jack Titley and Dorothy (Billings) Titley. Beloved sister of Dennis Titley and his wife Kathryn Thomas of Branford and Robert Titley and his wife Yvonne Ward of Nampa, Idaho. Barbara is also survived by nephews, Joshua Titley of Ball Ground, Georgia, Christopher Wolf of New Haven, and Kenneth Titley of Sacramento, California ; four great-nephews, and many cousins.
Barbara lived in Norwalk for most of her life except for a four-year period in Switzerland. Under the auspices of STAR, Inc., Barbara was employed in workshop settings and in the STAR cafeteria where she prepared lunches. She also participated in many community and local social events. In 2017 under the care of Sarah Tuxis Barbara moved to Madison, where she lived in a group home and participated in a much beloved day program in Westbrook.
She loved her group home housemates, her house staff, and the staff at her day program. Her love of animals (especially dogs!) was evident in nearly every conversation with her. Barbara was always surrounded by caring people at Sarah Tuxis. Barbara was much beloved by her immediate family and extended family of nephews and cousins both near and far.
Barbara’s family will be eternally grateful to all her caregivers who demonstrated kindness and compassion through the years, especially those at Sarah Tuxis and her representatives at the CT Department of Developmental Services.
