Kevin Patrick Hughes
Kevin Patrick Hughes, 63, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, surrounded by his loving family at the Connecticut Hospice, after a courageous two-year battle with Bulbar Onset ALS.
He was the beloved husband of Cynthia M. Livieri Hughes. Kevin was born in New Haven, on Feb. 2, 1959, and was the son of the late Edward Hughes and Geraldine Reagan Hughes. Kevin was a hard worker throughout his entire life and employed in the trucking and construction industries and most recently for The Town of Branford Transfer Station.
Kevin leaves behind three loving daughters, Stephanie Hughes (Paul Sadowski) of Branford, Shannon (Nicholas) Masella of Wallingford, and Nicole Hughes of New Haven; his brothers, Edward Hughes Jr. of Branford, and Gerald Hughes (Kathy Gilbert) of East Haven; and his sister Kathleen Hughes of Wallingford. He was predeceased by his brother Eugene Hughes. Kevin also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The most important thing in life to Kevin was his family. He was a true family man who cherished his wife and daughters and would do anything for them. When Kevin wasn’t working, you could find him driving around with a coffee and his favorite rock music playing or washing cars in his driveway. Life will certainly not be the same for those who loved Kevin as his laughter, big smile and crazy dance moves will be truly missed.
His funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, Dec. 30, for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, Branford. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Visitation prior to the funeral is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
