David Bruce Sheehan
David Bruce Sheehan passed away peacefully on Dec. 13 at Gladeview Rehabilitation and Care in Old Saybrook. He was born New London, on July 20, 1936. He enlisted at the age of 17 in the U.S. Marine Corp.
He is predeceased by his brother Thomas Sheehan; and two daughters, Denise and Danielle Sheehan. He is survived by his wife Deborah Sheehan; and two daughters, Dianne Kleinkauf and Doreen Sekelsky; and a brother-in-law, Steven Smythe; and father-in-law Edward Smythe. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He retired from RR Donnelly, and enjoyed his retirement feeding all the neighborhood animals and wildlife. He was nicknamed, “Dr. Doolittle.” His family knew him as “Pop-Pop.”
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses and aids at Gladeview, and a thank you to V.A. and Masonic Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, we ask all donations be made at the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford.
