Barry Raymond Beatty
Barry Raymond Beatty of Branford died suddenly on Dec. 16, at his home. He was born in New Haven on Oct. 9, 1952, son of the late James Robert and Frances Reed Beatty. Barry was a graduate of Branford High School and Central Connecticut State University.
B. R. “Bear” Beatty was founder and president of Estate Solutions, an Accredited Estate Liquidator, the highest designation of the American Society of Estate Liquidators. He provided compassionate care to numerous clients who were sometimes relocating for positive reasons or downsizing because of a life changing experience. Bear appraised and dealt in furnishings, antiques, art, and fine jewelry, as well as vintage toys and vehicles for over 40 years. Bear was known for his kindness and generous spirit, often quietly volunteering anonymously for local organizations. He also provided individual guidance and support to many, often at his favorite coffee shop. Bear loved travel, the outdoors, skiing, golf, and animals and provided a home for several golden retrievers and his amazing great Dane, Finn. He was also a longtime friend of Bill.
Barry is survived by his siblings, Maggie (Don) Coolican of Ponte Vedra, Florida, Michael R. Beatty of Branford, John J. (Sue) Beatty of Old Lyme and Maryann Beatty Cook of Branford; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a plethora of faithful friends. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Susan Beatty; niece Kathleen “Katie” Bridget Coolican; and grandniece Kathleen “Katie” Reed Bedingfield.
A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held in Branford in the spring. For online memorial and guestbook, see www.wsclancy.com.
