11/25/2022 09:56 AMRichard J. Rascati, 76, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away at his home on Nov. 15 . Richard was born in New Haven, on Sept. 9, 1946 and was the only child of the late Joseph Rascati and Mary (Hughes) Rascati. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife Betty Lou (Klember) Rascati, who he was married to for 47 years; his only child Heather (Scott) Rufin; his granddaughter Evelyn Rufin; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard is a 1964 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received his associate degree from the University of New Haven. Before retirement, he had worked for 45 years as an electrical engineer and facility manager of John B. Pierce Laboratory in New Haven. He also successfully ran his own business Bi-Tronics, Inc. for 22 years. Richard used his skill set to create many unique projects.
Richard was someone who loved to spend time at home reading about history and enjoying his time with his dogs, who will miss him terribly. If he could save every animal in a shelter, he would. Richard also enjoyed watching his daughter Heather ride her horses and compete at local shows over the years. He was always her biggest supporter in her life, and was so happy to see his granddaughter following in her mother’s footsteps of loving all animals, horses especially.
Richard’s family would like to invite friends and family for a Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Knights of Columbus Hal,l 390 South Union Street, Guilford. Burial will be held private.
