Judith A. (Nevers) Persico
Judith A. “Judy” (Nevers) Persico, 75, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away at her home on Nov. 17. She was the wife of the late Francis M. Persico. Judith was born in New Haven, on Jan. 11, 1947, daughter of the late Robert Nevers and Barbara (Thompson) Nevers.
She was the loving mother to Jennifer Calhoun and her husband Jim of Wellesley, Massachusetts, and Paul Persico of Georgia; and beloved and proud Nana to Emily, Katie, and Sam Calhoun. Judy was the loving sister of Maxine Bruno and husband Michael Bruno. Judy and Maxine had a very special bond sharing their lives and creating many special memories along the way. Judy was also a very special auntie to Mackenzie and Tom Pretty, and their children, and Michael and Faith Bruno, and their sons.
Judy was a very outgoing social person and had a wonderful relationship with her book club and neighborhood friends for over 40 years. She will be sorely missed. Mrs. Persico is a 1966 graduate of Bullard Haven Technical High School and trained as a licensed beautician. She also worked at several Shoreline retail stores over the years. She enjoyed spending time with family in Nantucket every summer and loved to be on the Shoreline.
Friends were invited to calling hours on Nov. 22, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield Street, Guilford. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to where she volunteered at Charlie’s Closet for many years.
