Jody Basilicato
Jody Basilicato passed away at home on Oct. 25. She was born on Aug. 26, 1957 in Middlesex Memorial Hospital, Middletown, to the late Eugene and Louise Raccio Luciani of East Hampton. She was the granddaughter of the late Alice and Joseph Raccio, of West Haven, and Julia and Louis Luciani, of New Haven.
Living in Bethany, Jody attended Bethany Community School and was a 1975 graduate of Amity Regional High School, Woodbridge. Jody graduated from Cosmetology School for Hairdressing. She worked at the former Caldor Department Store in Hamden, where she met her future husband. Jody was also a Child Care Professional in the town of Branford, where the family lived.
Jody is survived by her husband of 36 years, Stephen Basilicato of Branford; her son and daughter-in-law, U.S. Air Force Staff Sargeant Jordan and Natasha Basilicato of Jasper, Alabama; her daughter Gillian Basilicato of New Haven; and the pride and joy of her life, granddaughter Juniper Basilicato of Alabama. She is also survived by her sister Eugenie Marques (Daniel) of Mulberry, Florida; and her brother James Luciani (Darlene) of Bethany. Jody was predeceased by brothers, Jeffrey and Donald Luciani. She was the beloved auntie of 11 nieces and nephews; and nine grandnieces and nephews; and also a host of cousins and friends.
Jody was an avid reader and loved to play board games with the family. She loved to decorate and bake for the holidays, go camping and traveling to see her cherished “Junie Bug.”
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday afternoon, Nov. 4, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
